While doing my neurology residency at the Mayo Clinic, I asked one of the EEG (brain wave) technicians to do my EEG as I was thinking of various artistic and literary topics. This piece incorporates my own brain waves as I was thinking of Samuel Bekcett's play, Waiting for Godot. I have used this EEG tracing in many different art forms over the years. Given current international developments, this piece is particularly timely. The current forced governmental wanton destruction of cities and of human life is in keeping with the senselessness found in Beckett's lines.

Before delving into neurolobiologic topics in my art, I did a large number of complex installation pieces. These included doors, windows, mirror systems, lights, and sound systems. For the time they were truly avant garde. (Actually, they would even be avant garde now!). I proposed a collaborative installation piece to Samuel Bekcett in which he would write an actorless play, and I would create a sound, light, door, window and mirror installation of it for public performance. He wrote back that he was indeed interested in collaborating, but his current work load did not allow for an additional project. A few years later, he passed away.
