The original work, Casseiopia, was commissioned by the University of Chicago and was on canvas, three by seven meters in size. The underlying images dealt with the location of the origins of our Indo-European language and culture. I traveled to archeological sites where the Hittite empire flourished in central Turkey. The Hittite language is the oldest known Indo-European language. This piece, along with the accompanying Veil, were exhibited at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. This is a fitting exhibit location since this work deals with origins, cosmic, cultural, linguistic, and spiritual.

The original piece, along with the accompanying Veil are in the permanent collection of the Unversity of Chicago's Oriental Institute.

          Modeled by Nadia Shaherzad.

Strands of Feelings

  • These scarves should only be dry cleaned.

  • These are large-scale, 100% pure silk scarves, 140 x 140 cm (55 x 55 in). Given their size, they are more properly called wraps (skraistės in Lithuanian). Most designer scarves, at their largest, are only 90 x 90 cm (35 x 35 in). These are two and a half times that size.

The mulberry silk used is of the highest quality with twill weaving. The printing techniques are state of the art. All materials used in the production process are environmentally friendly, non-toxic with OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification. STANDARD 100 is the strictest environmental certification in the world. The company that does my printing has 13 years of experience and works only with silk, no other fabrics. This company’s Amazon rating is 4.7 out of 5. These scarves are heavy, durable and warm.
