The neuronal pattern used in this scarf was taken from the large scale painting "Veil". This 10 x 20 foot piece was commissioned by the University of Chicago and first shown as part of my "Cosmic Consciousness" exhibit at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. It was subsequently shown at the Oriental Institute during an international Hittite conference. It is currently in the permanent collection of the Oriental Institute, and is the first piece of contemporary art to be added to the collection.

This piece deals with the origins of Indoeuropean langauge and culture, as well as stellar and cosmic origins. More information about this piece and the full installation can be found by clicking HERE.  A wonderful YouTube recording of my sermon during mass at Rockefller Memorial Chapel, in which I discuss the significance of this installation, can be found HERE.

Please view my YouTube VIDEO of this piece being modeled, and another VIDEO of it up-close.

  • These scarves should only be dry cleaned.

  • These are large-scale, 100% pure silk scarves, 140 x 140 cm (55 x 55 in). Given their size, they are more properly called wraps (skraistės in Lithuanian). Most designer scarves, at their largest, are only 90 x 90 cm (35 x 35 in). These are two and a half times that size.

The mulberry silk used is of the highest quality with twill weaving. The printing techniques are state of the art. All materials used in the production process are environmentally friendly, non-toxic with OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification. STANDARD 100 is the strictest environmental certification in the world. The company that does my printing has 13 years of experience and works only with silk, no other fabrics. This company’s Amazon rating is 4.7 out of 5. These scarves are heavy, durable and warm.
